Our Drive to Start Joyride MTB Club:
We started this club because gravity riders in Victoria deserve a home base — something consistent, active, and built around downhill, enduro and E-bikes. The vision is simple: be the most active gravity-focused MTB club in the state, with regular riding, racing, and progression built into the calendar.
What does that look like? Simple stuff, like:
Thursday night shuttles every fortnight during daylight savings.
School Holiday shuttle days and club ride days.
Club coaching programs, social sessions, and proper club races.
Our long-term project is Kinglake and the Bowden Spur MTB Area. We want to work closely with Parks Victoria to bring this special place back to life and then take it further than it’s ever been. That means club build days, proper maintenance, machine work where we can get approval, fixing the car park, restoring old lines, re-opening forgotten trails, and building a network with something for every rider — groms, intermediates, elite racers, everyone.
This club isn’t just about Joyride. We want to collaborate with other clubs, race organisers, and shops to lift the whole scene. Demo days, shop nights, industry partner events, youth programs, community initiatives, whatever gets more people on bikes and builds the next generation of riders.
And as we grow, we want to be in a position where the club can financially support junior Aussie athletes chasing World Champs selection. If someone from our community earns that green and gold, we want to help get them there.
That’s the goal - build a club that rides more, digs more, races more, and gives more back to the sport than we take.
If that sounds like something you want to be part of, welcome aboard!
