Junior Downhill Pathway

Mini Muddies is a club race run once a year by "Club MUD" in Ballarat for riders from U6s to U12s. This is many riders first tase of downhill before progressing into the Joyride Rookie Cup. 

The Joyride Rookie Cup is designed to capture the ever-growing, new wave of up and coming downhill talent and give them the foundation to take on the sport of downhill headfirst! Age categories for this series start at U11s and go up to U17s, and is designed to be a pre season to the VDHS. 

The Victorian Downhill Series (VDHS) is Victoria’s premiere downhill mountain bike race series. The VDHS prides itself on providing a fun and inclusive environment for riders of a wide variety of ages and skill levels. It provides a pathway to national and international racing for junior riders. Age categories for this series start from U15. 

AusCycling National events are the highest level of junior racing in Australia. These take place over the Aussie summer and generally have one race per state on the east side of Australia. U13s is the youngest age that you can compete in Nationals but we strongly suggest racing the Rookie Cup and VDHS before attempting nationals.
